Nice tool, but I still prefer Quickfit for a number of reasons:
1. No doubleclick fitting/unfitting for modules, drones and ammo. This is a major gamebreaker for me. I HATE drag and drop. Doubleclick is so much faster.
2. No faction modules (yet?) which makes it useless for the mission runner in me.
3. Important stats only in tooltips
4. No favorites
5. No firepower sim with detailed stats like damage on specific NPCs, resists etc.
And a few minor issues: - On opening the program, the setup you last worked on should be loaded. - There should be a permanent big button that opens the ship browser. - The icons in ship resources and parameters are totally fubar for me.
Work out those kinks and you might be on to something great.

The corrupted icon bug is because of color depth. I just switched to 32bit colors and they display fine. On 16bit theyre fubar. Would be nice if that was fixed though as I run 16bit most of the time due to HOI2 not liking 32bit...

Imho it would be better to use the lowest resist rather than an average for this. Or better yet, show effective armor/shield HP for every resistance seperately in the resistance fields. And please put the info directly into the field, not into tooltips. There is so much unused screen real estate there, and having so much info only in tooltips which cant be displayed all at once is less than optimal imho.

What I now miss most compared to Quickfit is Favorites for modules and a detailed damage stat sheet against a specific target.

At the bottom of the module selection, there are tabs where you can select which types of mods you want to display. While this might be good for people new to EVE and browsing for modules, I find it incredibly clumsy if I already know what I am looking for, since it forces me to do many extra clicks when fitting mixes of faction, deadspace, officer and standard mods while using the text search to quickfind modules. Would much prefer if the search would show ALL the mods.
Also, a favorites feature is the one most needed thing for this to be able to really live up to quickfit. Right now I still use mostly quickfit even though the latest version has an outdated DB and a bunch of bad bugs, since it is simply so much more convenient.

Well it IS easy to miss. And the subdivision into categories only adds clicks for the experienced user that already knows what he wants to fit rather than browse for stuff, so I really don't like it either. If I enter ballistic control into the search, I want ALL BCUs to be listed, not just the ones in the currently selected category :(
Of course the main reason for this whine is the lack of favorites, if I had those I would have to do the clumsy search only once for mods I commonly use at least.

I think I just founda bug in EFT:
Omnidirectional tracking links seem to be stacking nerfed (fitting one as 5th range mod only turns 47km optimal into 48km) which they are not in EVE afaik.

Originally by: Kamoonga Okay, forgive the stupidity, but how do you actually use this thing? I unzipped the files to a folder on the desktop. Right away WinZip complains about having to overwrite a CPU icon, but I let it do so. Then, I try to launch the .exe and get an "invalid filename" error. Hit OK to get out of that and the proggie window opens. Hover over the lefthand window and try to search for a ship, and I get "Access violation at address 004Ag783 in module 'EFT.exe'. Read of address 00000000."
Open ship browser and click on a blank square, and I get "invalid index" again. OK out of that and a setup window opens but throws another access violation.
WTH am I doing wrong?
Did you install .net ? I think it is required for EFT, is it not?
